Donate pet supplies to benefit the Animal Welfare League of Arlington (AWLA)
Throughout the month of August the Arlington County Fire Department will be kicking off the 3rd year of Operation FirePaws, a month long charity drive collecting donated items needed by shelter pets at the Animal Welfare League of Arlington (AWLA). Operation FirePaws volunteers delivered over 1200 pounds of donated pet goods to AWLA over the drive’s two year history. The department will also use the month of August to educate the public on various pet safety topics.
Citizens are encouraged to drop off pet supplies to designated donation bins available at all Arlington fire stations during the month of August. Please look for the donation bins in the front lobby of each station.
A list of needed items can be found here: https://www.awla.org/wishlist.pdf
The AWLA has requested no milk bones, boxed hard treats, or homemade treats.
